From Queensland to the Northern Territory: Oreco's Expanding Baling Operations

At Oreco Group, our commitment to supporting Australian agriculture extends far beyond the walls of our manufacturing facilities.
Over the past several years, our baling operations have grown significantly, taking us from the cane fields of Queensland to some of the largest pastoral properties in Australia. This year marks another exciting milestone, with our team recently operating at Alexandria Station in the Northern Territory.

Working at Scale
Alexandria Station is one of Australia's largest cattle stations, spanning thousands of square kilometres across the Northern Territory. Operating in such a remote environment requires careful planning, reliable equipment, and a team willing to tackle the unique challenges that come with working in the Australian outback.
For Oreco, these projects are about more than producing bales. They allow us to maximise the utilisation of our fleet throughout the year, keep skilled operators employed during seasonal transitions, and continue building strong relationships across the agricultural sector.
Investing in Capability
To support our growing field operations, Oreco has continued investing in specialised equipment, including new JCB Fastrac tractors and additional handling machinery. These investments allow us to mobilise quickly between sites, improve operational efficiency, and maintain productivity across multiple regions throughout the year.
The ability to deploy equipment across Queensland and the Northern Territory means our team can respond to opportunities wherever they arise while maintaining the high standards our customers expect.

Supporting Australian Agriculture
Every region presents its own challenges. In the Northern Territory, vast distances, changing weather conditions, and remote logistics require a proactive approach and a strong focus on reliability.
By operating across multiple agricultural sectors and regions, Oreco gains valuable insights that strengthen our broader business. The knowledge gained in the field contributes to improved operational efficiency, better resource utilisation, and a deeper understanding of the industries we support.
More Than Manufacturing
Many people know Oreco for our garden products, animal bedding, cat litter, and agricultural products. What they may not realise is the significant amount of work that takes place behind the scenes to secure raw materials, support farming communities, and keep Australian supply chains moving.
Our expanding baling operations are an important part of that story.
As we continue to grow, we remain focused on investing in capability, supporting regional communities, and building long-term partnerships throughout Australian agriculture.
From the cane fields of Queensland to the cattle stations of the Northern Territory, Oreco is proud to be working at the source.
